IF you are keen to get out for some fresh air this weekend, make sure you wrap up warm and take your brollie with you as it is set to be a cold and wet weekend in Somerset.

A yellow weather warning for ice was in place for Somerset until 9am today but weather warnings remain in place across the country for snow and ice.

Today there will be sunny spells throughout the day as well as scattered showers too, some on the heavy side, especially for Cornwall and Devon.

The forecaster said a band of rain is likely to start moving into the northeast towards the end of the day.

Tonight rain will move to the South West across many parts, turning to snow across eastern counties before clearing away later.

It is also likely there will be some icy patches likely later.

On Sunday it will be much colder with occasional snow flurries possible in the east. It will stay dry further west but with largely cloudy skies. The forecaster says it will feel particularly bitter in a strong northeasterly wind.
