TWO people were trapped after a road traffic collision in Wells this morning (February 8).
Both the woman and man involved in the incident, on Constitution Hill, were taken to hospital after they were rescued from their vehicles.
Two fire engines, one rescue tender and a duty officer from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue attended the road traffic collision at 8.06am.
"On arrival the incident commander confirm a road traffic collision involving two vehicles and two persons trapped within the vehicle," said a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue.
"Crews promptly got to work stabilising the vehicle and using hydraulic cutting equipment to gain access to the casualties for the paramedics on scene.
"One female casualty was removed from the vehicle and transferred to hospital via land ambulance and one male was removed from the vehicle and transferred to hospital via air ambulance."
