A MAN from Taunton has been banned from driving for six months and fined after driving without insurance.

Thomas Sargent, 33, of Hillfarrance Road, was convicted of driving without the required insurance on Wellington Road, Taunton, on October 28, 2019.

He was fined £660, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £66 and costs of £85, as well as being disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for six months.

A Curry Rivel resident has been handed a driving ban and a fine after being caught driving at twice the permitted speed.

Wayne Lewis Smith, 32, of Chatham Place, admitted driving at 80mph on the B3168 Westport, where a 40mph speed limit was in force, on September 6, 2019.

As well as being ordered to pay a fine of £120, a victim surcharge of £30 and costs of £85, he has been disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for three months.

A man from Taunton has been fined after being caught speeding.

Ian Christopher Price, 35, of Pollards Way, pleaded guilty to driving at 82mph, exceeding the speed limit of 70mph, on the M4 in South Gloucestershire, on January 12, 2020.

He was fined £123, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and costs of £85.

A Bridgwater man was given a driving ban and a fine, after he failed to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle, who was alleged to have been guilty of an offence, on March 4, 2020.

Daniel Noel Balthazar De Souza, 36, of Taunton Road, has been fined £660, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £66 and costs of £85, as well as being banned from holding a driving licence for six months.
