FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze in a disused barn in Cheddar earlier this evening (Saturday).
A fire engine from the town was sent to the incident in Holwell Lane at around 5pm.
On the crew's arrival, smoke and flames were issuing from the building.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "This was one disused barn approximately 20m by 5m, of block and timber construction.
"The fire involved approximately one tonne of timber within the barn.
"Crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and crews believe this was deliberate ignition."
