RICHARD Huish College, in South Road, Taunton, has announced that it is seeking to become an academy.
In a statement, it says: "The college is proposing to dissolve its governing body and to transfer all property, rights and liabilities to the Richard Huish Trust."
A statutory consultation exercise is currently underway.
The consultation document can be viewed on the college website at www.huish.ac.uk
Alternatively, people can request a paper version by writing to Richard Huish College, South Road, Taunton TA1 3DS.
The deadline for responses to the consultation has been set at June 1 this year.
Meanwhile, the college is preparing to welcome students back on campus for a full face-to-face timetable from Monday (March 8).
Buses will be operating their normal service from this date and lesson times and length will remain unchanged for the remainder of this term.
A number of extra measures are being put in place to keep staff and students safe during the current pandemic.
