The News & Star and The Cumberland News are looking for digital reporters to join our team in Carlisle.

Newsquest Cumbria, the parent company of the News & Star, The Mail, The Cumberland News, the Westmorland Gazette, the Times and Star, the Whitehaven News, the Hexham Courant, plus the Cumberland & Westmorland Gazette, is investing in local journalism to ensure its titles can continue to be at the heart of the communities they serve.

The openings are for ambitious multimedia reporters looking to take their career to the next level in a patch bursting with stories.

The right candidates will have a web-first attitude and be keen to engage a growing online audience with exciting and innovative content.

The opportunities are available across Cumbria in a variety of locations including Carlisle, west Cumbria, Penrith, Kendal and Barrow-in-Furness.

The jobs will include some shift and weekend working on a rota basis.

NCTJ qualifications are preferable for the multimedia reporter roles and a driving licence is essential.
