POLICE discovered controlled drugs and illegal substances, as well as drug paraphernalia after stopping and searching a group of youths in a village.
Officers from the Wellington Neighbourhood Policing team seized the drugs in the area of Milverton Cricket Club on Sunday (March 14).
It comes after a rise in young people in Milverton taking drugs, according to police.
Wellington Neighbourhood Policing, in a Facebook post, said: "Local officers have identified an increase in drug activity amongst young people in the Milverton area.
"Proactive targeted patrols in response to this led to youths being stopped and searched in the area of Milverton Cricket Club on Sunday 14th March.
"These youths were found to be in possession of controlled drugs/substances and items of drug paraphernalia.
"Anyone with information about any form of drug activity in the Milverton area are encouraged to contact Wellington Neighbourhood Policing Team through our Facebook page or by calling the police on 101."
