BARGAIN-hunting shoppers are expected to flock to the Debenhams store in Taunton when it re-opens on Monday.

The company is offering discounts of up to 70 per cent on fashion and home items and up to 50 per cent off beauty products.

The store will remain open for between three and five weeks to clear its stock before closing permanently.

The company is currently being liquidated after failing to attract a buyer for its stores.

Boohoo has bought the online Debenhams business.

A Debenhams spokesperson said: "Following the latest government guidance, we are re-opening our stores in England and Wales on April 12.

"Stores in Northern Ireland will open later in line with government guidance.

"For a small number of stores, we've taken the difficult decision to permanently close."

They added: "We're excited to be able to start welcoming you back into our stores and want to reassure you that the safety of our customers and staff remains our highest priority.

"When our stores re-open we will launch a new website where you can find information in relation to store locations, opening hours and in-store promotions.

"You can also find returns information and order enquiry details for orders placed before April 12."
