POLICE have been investigating after a report of a "suspicious man" lurking in the bushes at a beauty spot in Taunton.

Gary Griffiths has posted on social media saying the man got more than he bargained for when he jumped out of the bushes in Longrun Meadow.

Gary said: "Anyone in the Roughmoor Close/Longrun Meadow area walking dogs, be aware of a guy lurking in the area in bushes or the wooded area by the the wooden bridge.

"(He no has) possible teeth marks in the back of his head as he jumped out at me from behind, not realising I had a dog, Rocco, with me, a Cane Corso, who took him down, pinned him by the back of his head, but he ran off."

Gary contacted the police following the incident at around 11.15am yesterday (Tuesday) and wants to warn other people for their safety.

A Taunton Neighbourhood Policing spokesman said: "This was reported to us and we conducted an area tour for the suspicious individual.

"They weren't found."
