YEAR 8 students from the St Augustine of Canterbury School, in Taunton, enjoyed a lunchtime game of football during a visit to Wells Cathedral before Christmas.
More serious activities included learning from the Cathedral's education officer about the church's 900-year timeline, about the intricacies of stained glass windows, heraldry and on the life and prayer of the cathedral.
Compliments were paid on the way the students engaged with the studies while still gaining pleasure from their visit.
