SANTANDER says "key services are recovering" following problems today (Saturday) of customers accessing accounts online and withdrawing cash from its ATMs.

The problems have affected branch, telephone, online, app and card services.

The bank has said it expects a "full recovery by the end of the day".

SANTANDER has apologised to customers for a "technical problem" with many of its services today (Saturday).

The bank says its is working to fix the issue, which has seen customers denied access to their money.

Santander says branch, phone, the online app and card services are affected.

Its website says: "We're sorry that a technical problem is affecting our services, our teams are working hard to fix it.

"You can access cash from other banks' ATMs."

Santander says it will post updates on its website, although it has not given any indication of when it thinks the problem will be resolved or how many customers are affected.
