A CONCERT society near Taunton is set to welcome back live music next month.

Milverton Concert Society is hosting performances on June 4 and June 7 at St Michael's Church in Milverton.

The first show, on June 4, will be with the Carducci Quartet.

Their usual venues include the prestigious Wigmore Hall, London; Carnegie Hall, New York and Concertgebouw, Amsterdam.

They will be performing works by Dvorak and Beethoven.

On July 17, Martin James Bartlett will be performing at the church for the third time.

Since his 2014 victory in BBC Young Musician of the Year, Martin has built a considerable international reputation and has performed with many of the top orchestras around the world.

His programme will include Rachmaninoff, Ravel and Couperin.

There will be two socially distanced performances on each day - one at 4.30pm and one at 7:30pm.
