TWO casualties were rescued after a crash in Somerton this morning (May 28).
Fire engines from Street and Somerton attended the road traffic collision on Somerton Road, Compton Dundon at around 3.30am.
A heavy rescue vehicle from Glastonbury also arrived at the incident to help rescue the 48-year-old woman and 18-year-old man.
"On arrival at the incident crews confirmed a single vehicle road traffic collision with the car on its side with two occupants physically trapped," a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said.
"Crews set to work stabilising the vehicle and setting up equipment to release the casualties.
"One 48 year old female and one 18 year old male were released from the vehicle by fire crews using hydraulic cutting equipment and small tools.
"Casualties were left in the care of the ambulance service with no obvious injuries."
