A PRE-SCHOOL in West Somerset official opened this week.
Minehead Pre-School, formerly known as Seashells, was opened by Paul Rushforth, CEO, who cut the ribbon at the site.
The opening has been delayed multiple times due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mr Rushforth said: "We know that for every pound invested in early years education, we get 10 times that value as the child progresses to adulthood.
"The West Somerset Academies Trust is deeply committed to offering the very best nursery and preschool provision possible.
"By working across all four of our local nurseries, our director of early years, Emma Murch and her team, have raised standards not just in our nurseries, but to the highest they have ever been in our First Schools.
"It is a delight therefore to see the opening of the remodelled Minehead Pre School."
Minehead Pre-School is closely linked to Minehead First School, so the transition from pre-school to reception is easier.
The pre-school offers many different opportunities including P.E. and swimming lessons. And next year they are set to introduce forest school.
Current parent, Mrs Pollard, added: "Since starting at Minehead Preschool our daughter has grown in her confidence and social skills.
"The teachers have helped her to try new things and supported her in some of her favourite activities such as craft and swimming.
"We feel that her time at Minehead Preschool has played a huge part in her preparation for 'big school'. "
