A MOTORIST who was twice the drink drive limit has been banned for six month by Taunton Magistrates' Court.

Bijoy Mani, 32, of Wellington Road, Taunton, was described as "a repeat" offender after he admitted the offence in Wellington New Road, near where he lives, on October 29 last year.

A breath test showed he had 70 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the limit is 35 microgrammes.

He was fined £184 and must pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

BAILEY George Howell-Lowe was disqualified for 12 months for drink driving after pleading not guilty to the offence.

He admitted failing to stop after hitting and damaging a boundary wall on the same day, for which he was fined £346, with a £34 victim surcharge and £185 costs.

He was given no separate penalty for driving without due care and attention, which he admitted.

THOMAS William Webber, 30, of Old Taunton Road, Bridgwater, pleaded guilty to using violence for the purpose of securing entry into premises and to stealing a mobile phone.
