I HAVE recently been seriously ill and, though recovering, I am unable to walk as much as I used to, or stand for long periods of time.

I have therefore been advised to apply for a Blue Badge.

This I have tried to do, but find that this can now only be done online.

I have some computer skills but am limited in what I can do.

I was told I would have to find someone to do it for me!

Do I really want someone else to know of my personal circumstances?

I just wonder who has set this way of applying in place? I think they need a course in care of the elderly.

Most applicants will be 75 years old and older, many in their 80s, many have no computers anyway and many not enough skills to be able to deal with the application.

Somerset County Council, please rethink this way of applying - most applicants are genuine.
