A NEW mural has appeared in Glastonbury - thanks to a talented artist who has worked with Abbey Road Studios and Coca Cola.

Luke Embden, a British artist currently based in Berlin, painted the art as part of the Glastonbury Mural Trail.

The trail is organised by Glastonbury Town Council and the Chamber of Commerce. It features the work of artists and is supported by several local businesses.

Mr Embden painted the colourful artwork last month, just off Manor House Road.

"I look upon myself as a graphic artist who loves working large scale with as much colour as possible," he said.

"Nearly all of my Murals carry and send out a message of positivity and love, this being especially important more than ever with the on-going pandemic.

"I wanted to create a mural that the people of Glastonbury would be and feel proud of.

"Elements that I felt visually drawn to and that were clear to visualize for this site-specific piece were the infamous Glastonbury Tor; the music notes and guitar (giving a nod to the world-famous Glastonbury Festival) and gems and crystals, so I decided to paint amethyst.

"There are also lots of flower and nature references and a water droplet giving a nod to the many wells that you have in the surrounding countryside."
