A WOULD-be shoplifter attempted steal bottles of spirits from Morrisons, in Wells.
Jamie Liam Miller, of Heron Close, Evercreech, received a 12-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
He was also detained in the courthouse after admitting failing to surrender to the court.
A BRIDGWATER man damaged a fire door and a gate in a local hostel, Taunton Magistrates' Court heard.
Kelvin Lee Holmes, 41, of Taunton Road, was ordered to pay £250 compensation after pleading guilty to the offence.
