A MAN who appeared in court for speeding narrowly avoided a driving ban.
Leighton James McGuinness, 46, of Stogursey in Somerset, was at Taunton Magistrates' Court on June 3.
He was fined £288 and asked to pay £85 in costs and a £34 victim surcharge for driving 85mph on a dual carriageway.
McGuinness was given three points on his licence but did not receive a ban due to personal circumstances.
He pleaded guilty to the offence, which took place on the A303 near Sparkford.
