CHARD-based haulage firm C&D South West has been shortlisted for a prestigious industry award for its response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Somerset distributor is one of five companies in the running for the ‘Business Excellence Award’ category at the Motor Transport Awards 2021, designed to reward business best practice and excellence for companies working in the commercial vehicle and road freight sector.
Others shortlisted in the same category include DPD UK, Expect Distribution, Hermes and Wren Kitchens.
C&D managing director, Lorna Hammond, said: “Being shortlisted for this award is a fantastic achievement and reflects how well we did last year.
"We’re passionate about the distribution services we provide and it’s great to have our achievements recognised on a national scale.
“We are a people company, family owned with many long-standing employees, so to be recognised in this way is testament to the talent of our people and our ability to deliver a quality service for our clients.
"I’d like to thank the entire C&D team for their efforts.”
Judges praised C&D for managing to maintain a strong financial performance throughout the pandemic and using its agility and adaptability to help keep the country moving, while minimising its environmental impact.
C&D was founded in 1987 and has been providing quality distribution to clients for more than 30 years.
The winners will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony to be held at the Grosvenor Hotel in London on September 2, 2021.
