MOTORISTS appear to be avoiding a major Taunton road near Musgrove Park Hospital where sections of the carriageway have been closed since the start of the month.
Parts of Galmington Road are being closed on a phased basis throughout June.
The closure is to allow work to proceed installing a high voltage cable to supply the hospital.
The first seven days of the month saw the section between Musgrove Road and Galmington Close cut off.
Currently Galmington Close to Belmont Road is closed until Wednesday (June 16).
Then Belmont Road to Deane Drive will be closed until June 24.
And then Deane Drive to just before the post office will be closed until July 1.
Our photographer Steve Richardson pooped over to Galmington Road mid-morning today and snapped a couple of pictures showing traffic seemed to be staying away.
