SHOWS at a popular theatre in Taunton are being rescheduled after the latest Government announcement.

Due to the continuation of social distancing, some performances at the Brewhouse, which were due to take place over the next month, will need to be postponed.

The news comes as the Government announced the lifting of the latest lockdown will be put back by four weeks - ending on July 19 instead of June 21.

Victoria Patch, communications and development manager at the theatre, said: "Obviously this is a disappointment for everyone concerned –it is bad news for the arts organisations and freelance artists, whose income will continue to suffer as a result of this extension to social distancing rules.

"We are looking forward to July 19 and some normality returning.

"Meanwhile Taunton Brewhouse remains open, and we are continuing to welcome audiences and put on shows and events in a safe and socially distanced way."

Any customer who has a ticket for an affected show should receive an email from the theatre.

If they can make the new date, there is no need to do anything. But if they can't make the date, they need to contact the Brewhouse box office on 01823 283244.
