VISITORS to Glastonbury will be able to step back in time at the end of this month.

Glastonbury Abbey’s Medieval Fayre is set to go ahead on June 26 and 27.

However, there will be reduced capacity due to the delay in lockdown lifting across the UK.

The event has been planned from the outset assuming that England would stay in some form of lockdown and has contingencies in place as per the government guidance.

The Medieval Fayre combines re-enactment, history and performance to offer an ‘entertaining and immersive’ experience.

“Offering more than just battles, the fayre has an extensive market and a range of demonstrations and activities for the whole family,” said a spokesperson for Glastonbury Abbey.

“The schedule has been designed to be possible to take in as a day visitor but for those who would like to take a more leisurely approach a weekend ticket is available.

“Tickets should be purchased in advance of the event to ensure capacities can be managed and that people do not travel unnecessarily to the town during the weekend once the event has sold out.

“With 36 acres of space in which to hold the event the team is sure that its Covid-19 risk mitigation strategies will ensure an enjoyable yet safe visit for all.”

Tickets cost £12 for adults and £7 for children. For a family (two adults and two children), a ticket will cost £32.

For a concession, tickets cost £10 and for a Glastonbury Abbey member they cost £7.
