A MIDDLE-aged woman has been ordered to pay £200 costs after being found guilty of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour in Taunton on September 29 last year.
Jennifer Lucy Smith, 52, of Lyngford Square, Taunton, who had pleaded not guilty to the charge, was handed the bill, along with a £22 victim surcharge when she appeared at Taunton Magistrates' Court.
She was given a 12-month conditional discharge.
Three other charges against her were dismissed by the court, with not guilty verdict entered for counts of criminal damage, assault by beating and possession in public of a metal bat.
A WOMAN living at a homeless hostel assaulted three on-duty police officers in Taunton on New Year's Day.
Laura Crisp, 28, of Canonsgrove Halls of residence, Trull, was given a community order after she pleaded guilty to three counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker.
Crisp was ordered to pay each victim £50 compensation.
She also admitted assault by beating another person in Bishops Lydeard on the same day, for which she was ordered to pay £100 compensation and £85 costs.
