POLL: The referendum was organised by Somerset's district councils
REGARDING the recent referendum on the council reorganisation plans, why was this not a secret ballot?
Being sent a form with my ‘unique’ security code linked to my name and address ensured that my individual choice would have been known, whether I returned the form or went online to register my vote.

I and many others did not vote because of this lack of anonymity.
But, having thought about this, by the same reasoning the organisers would now know who didn’t vote.
