MUSIC teacher Estelle Jackson isn't one to blow her own trumpet, but she's hoping to create a world record on Friday.

Mrs Jackson, a visiting teacher at Queen's College, Taunton, is sitting NINE music exams on NINE different instruments - all on the same day.

She hopes to hit the right note and raise lots of sponsorship for the Sidney Lawton Music Trust, which helps students at Queen’s develop their talent, and the Stand Against Violence charity.

Mrs Jackson said: “I'm doing one of each grade from Initial to Grade 8 inclusive on trumpet, guitar, trombone, cello, xylophone, singing, bassoon, piano and soprano saxophone.

“I've been working hard for the past 18 months and it's going to be a huge feat of stamina and concentration.

“I also have about a dozen students sitting exams in recorder, flute and alto saxophone at the same time, so I'm going to have my work cut out!”
