RESIDENTS are now moving into homes on a new housing development in Taunton.

Two friends, both nurses, have moved into homes next door to each other at Nerrols Grange, near Taunton.

And Eglė Macaitė, 31 and husband Justinas Stankauskas, 34, moved in with their newborn baby, Rokas.

Eglė left their previous rented flat to go into hospital, leaving with baby in arms the next day to move straight into their new family home.

Eglė said: "We've known the area and community for so many years, and we love our new home here in Nerrols Grange which is ideal for raising our family in.

"We knew it would be well made and good quality, and when we found out that we could complete around the same time as our baby's due date we knew we had to go for it.

"It's been lovely to meet some of our new neighbours, as the first family to move in, it's been exciting to watch the community here grow day by day.

"We can't wait to be able to meet them in the green open spaces around us this summer, and for more families to move into the community."

Louraine Binas, 23, a nurse, and Gil Jan, 22, an online delivery driver, have been living with Louraine's parents in order to save up for their first home together.

After a suggestion from their friends, Fran Dichoso, 25, and Matthew Olinarez, 27, to have a look at Nerrols Grange, they decided to move there.

Louraine said: "We are so excited to move into our three-bedroom house at Nerrols Grange. It's really close to where we work and we like the peace and quiet that comes with living in this area too. We had already heard good things about Barratt Homes from friends and family too.

"We are looking forward to going round to each other's houses and having dinner with each other. We already do this now but we have to drive, so it will be great to be so close to one another. We can't wait to pick up the keys and settle in."

Fran said it 'couldn't have worked out better' for them, as they are moving next door to their friends.

"We lived on a busy road and the traffic noise, particularly from the large lorries was really bad, many times I struggled to catch up on my sleep," she said.

"At Nerrols Grange there is no traffic, it is surrounded by countryside and the peace will be amazing.

"I can't believe we have been able to buy a new home in such a lovely setting, close to work and with friends as neighbours, it's a dream scenario."

Nerrols Grange, with 235 homes and an expansion of the Northwalls Grange under three miles from the county town centre, is being created by Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes.

The sale of the homes launched earlier this year.

Louise Ware, sales director for Barratt David Wilson Homes South West, said: "A huge welcome to the very first residents to move into Nerrols Grange - and of course congratulations to Eglė and Justinas on their new baby.

"We are very excited that this important milestone has been reached in creating a new neighbourhood in this wonderful location on the cusp of the rolling countryside."
