YEAR 11 students in Taunton managed to celebrate finishing school with a unique prom event.

Pupils at The Holway Centre, part of Taunton Deane Partnership College (TDPC), enjoyed a prom night photo shoot.

Staff donated dresses, suits and make-up so the students could 'take some positive memories' with them.

Alpha Driving School also donated a fancy car for the evening as well.

Taunton Deane Partnership College would like to thank staff for their donations, Alpha Driving School and Anita Howard who supplied many of the dresses.

Sam Cross from The Holway Centre said: "We have thought for a few years now how we can provide a prom event for our year small cohort of year 11s.

"This is the first time we have done it and with the refurbishment and Covid-19 we did not think it possible.

"Our students deserve a special send off and it was very important to all of us that this happened.

"Everyone has worked incredibly hard managing the students wellbeing alongside all of the disruptions.

"The day went better then we could of imagined, proving that our young people with the right support can achieve, have pride in themselves and be included in special events."

Key Stage 3 and 4 students who are permanently excluded, or attending TDPC on partnership programmes, are based at The Holway Centre.
