YOUNG people in a Taunton village can enjoy improved facilities at their local play park after a refurb.

The play area, in Bishop's Hull, has had a makeover.

The Bishops Hull Village Hall and Playing Field Trust oversaw the project, which was funded using contributions from Bishop's Hull Parish Council, the Garfield Weston charity, the Lottery Community Fund, Somerset West and Taunton Council and Viridor Credits.

A spokesperson for the Trust said: "(We) take enormous pride in the provision and maintenance of wonderful new play park facilities for the community of Bishop's Hull.

"We take particular pride in providing for the children of the village."

DOING THE HONOURS: Josh Meade and Jess Grabham

The work was completed by Broxap Hand Made Places Limited.

"Of course, maintaining our beautiful playing fields and providing our newest play park do not come without a lot of work and commitment and we would like to thank all of those who have given so generously of their time," the spokesperson added.

"Projects like the new play park need a lot of money and we would like to thank all for their generosity as key funders of the project."

The new-look play area was opened by two children from Bishops Hull Primary School – Josh Meade and Jess Grabham - and they joined fellow pupils in making the most of the new equipment.
