Starting on July 24, visitors can enjoy summer family trails.

There will be a different trail each week of the holidays, which will lead guests through the site.

Wake Up Wells Community Day will also take place on July 24, with special storytelling sessions throughout the day.

These include:

  • At 10.30am & 3.30pm storyteller Beth Webb and singer Neil Eaton will tell you the Tales of Robin Hood. Afterwards, you can have a go at writing or illustrating your own Robin Hood stories.
  • At 11.30am & 1.30pm the under 6’s can enjoy The Magic Garden storytelling; an enchanting, multi-sensory show with puppets and music, which is sure to delight children of all ages, as the garden beautifully reveals its mystery.

There will also be a big picnic event on the Palace Croquet Lawn from 11.45am until 4pm.

On July 27, visitors will be able to enjoy a family escape room called 'Bishop's Code'.

This is aimed at families with children aged between five and 12. The escape room sessions are on a drop-in basis from 10.30am until 3.30pm.

There will be trainee gardener family sessions at the landmark on August 3, where guests can identify plants and trees as they make their way through the gardens.

If you are more of a dragon fan, then there is a Palace Dragon Day on August 17, where you can learn about Dinder Dragon and Bishop Jocelyn.
