A FIRE broke out at a Taunton park this afternoon (July 17).
Crews dealt with the open fire in Longrun Meadow, Taunton, but it is now under control.
The fire was generating a lot of smoke and so residents were advised to keep windows and doors closed.
"Sorry, we know that doesn't help in this heat, but if there's ever a good time for an ice cream, this is it," said a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
