FOLLOWING months of planning and last-minute covid-secure adaptations, the sun finally shone on Somerstock.
Taking place at Somerton Recreation Ground, there were some early concerns over the weather, but the rain cleared away and the sun finally made its appearance over the festivals's three stages.
For many revellers it was a welcome return to some sense of normality and a fun and relaxed atmosphere was felt throughout.
The limited number of tickets offered ensured festival goers were able to be spaced over a large area and the audience were treated to a full day of continuous live music from 11am to 11pm, including local bands, original artists and tribute acts, with pop and soul legends, The Christians, closing main stage.
Chairman, Fred Bassett, said: “We are very pleased to have been able to deliver the festival under extraordinary circumstances and delighted to see everyone having such a great time.
"This was only our second festival and we still have more to learn and build on for our 2022 event.”
In an early sign that the festival will go from strength to strength, the organisers have already announced that the headline act for 2022 will be British pop/rock band The Hoosiers.
