VISITORS to a summer fete were greeted by unseasonally heavy rain on Saturday.

But the wet weather did not deter people at the St Margaret's Hospice event at the charity's base in Bishop's Hull.

The day, which raised vital funds for the hospice, featured a barbecue and live music.

A spokesperson for St Margaret’s said: “We had a fantastic day at our Taunton fete on Saturday, which was proudly sponsored by Gibbins Richards.

"The wet weather failed to dampen the spirits of visitors who came out in force to support the hospice.

“There was a steady stream of visitors throughout the day who all enjoyed what the fete had to offer.

"The barbecue, which was supplied by our wonderful catering team, went down a storm with visitors and everyone enjoyed listening to the brilliant live music from The Grey Dogs Jazz Band, GigFace and Rock Choir.

“We would like to thank everyone who attended this year’s fete, and to our wonderful volunteers who helped to make the day a great success.

"It was a fantastic day and we really appreciate your support.”
