TWO vehicles were 'deliberately' set on fire in a field near Hemyock this morning (July 28).

One fire engine from Wellington attended the incident at around 11.45am.

Both vehicles were completely damaged by the fire.

"Fire control received reports of two vehicles on fire in a field," said a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.

"Once on scene crews confirmed two cars well alight and got to work using one hose reel jet.

"Crews confirmed both vehicles were 100 per cent damaged by fire with five per cent fire damage to the surrounding area.

"Crews believe this fire to be deliberate and police were informed."
