FORMER England captain Michael Vaughan’s son Archie has joined Somerset’s Academy, the club has announced.
The 15-year-old Millfield School pupil has won his place after a successful spell on the Somerset Pathway, during which he has represented the county at under-15 and under-18 levels.
Vaughan told the club’s official website: “My time here has been really good and I’ve been enjoying my time with the Under-15s.
“The goal is to turn professional and that’s what I really want to achieve. From an early age I just wanted to play cricket, follow my own path and see where that takes me.
“In the next few years, I want to keep on improving my game. I see myself as a batting spinner. I started bowling off-spin this year and it’s been coming out quite nicely.
“I’ve got a good school and good coaches around me and I really want to make the most of this opportunity.”
