A CRAFT market is set to launch in Wellington this Saturday (August 7).

Four local crafters, Caroline Bartlett, Laura Knight, Debbi Mackenzie, and Caroline Pearce, are planning to run the market in the Rockwell Green village hall on the first Saturday of every month.

Three of them have lived, or still live, in Rockwell Green and appreciate the strong community spirit in the village.

“Rockwell Green is a wonderful community with a distinct identity and we have all loved living here," said Ms Bartlett.

“We already support the Wellington Craft Market which is held in the Scout Hall but we thought Rockwell Green deserved to have its own event for crafters as well.

“So, we got together and organised it and have booked the village hall as an ideal venue for a market and look forward to welcoming lots of Rockwell Green residents and also those from Wellington and elsewhere who would like to come along.”

The market will be held from 9.30am until 12.30pm, and will support three charities - Scotty's Little Soldiers, Teenage Cancer Trust, and the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS).
