A TINA Turner tribute is headed to the Somerset County Cricket Club this weekend.
Visitors to the show can enjoy Tsemaye Bob-Egbe performing An Evening of Tina on Friday night (August 6).
Tsemaye is a West End actress, performer, writer and voice-over artist.
Initially, she trained as a doctor, but soon decided to make acting a full-time career.
And she is really looking forward to being back on stage again this year.
“I know it’s going to be incredible, not only for us but for every audience member there,” she said.
“It’s also going to be incredibly hard to get the fitness and stamina back up but I’m really looking forward to it.
“I’m really looking forward to the tour. I’m a Tina fan through and through. There’s a video of me from about 10 years ago singing Proud Mary on stage.
“Being a part of Tina on the West end for a few years now and having the opportunity to do this, is really exciting to me.”
Tsemaye’s favourite Tina Turner song is We Dont Need Another Hero, because it is an emotional number, which, when done right, ‘hits your straight in the heart’.
“I love performing for the escapism,” she added.
“I think it’s that simple for me. I love being able to play someone else, have a different persona but then retire into my own company at the end of the day. (I’m a little introverted much to people’s surprise).
“My older sister went to school in Somerset, so I have been there, but I have never been to Taunton.
“But I am really looking forward to doing the show and I hope to see you all there!”
Tickets for the show cost £27 for on pitch standing, and £35 for seating in the Marcus Trescothick Pavilion.
There are also a variety of concert hospitality experiences on offer too. The show starts at 7.30pm.
