RUMWELL Farm Shop's Charity Quiz and Supper Evening will return next month in aid of Conquest Centre.

The event will raise money for the Norton Fitzwarren-based charity, which provides more than 150 equine and small animal sessions each week for the community. It will take place at Rumwell Farm Shop’s Café on Friday, September 10 from 6.30pm.

Anne Mitchell, joint owner of the family-run farm shop, said: "We’re looking forward to our Charity Quiz & Supper Evening returning next month.

"Last year we raised a fantastic £700 for Conquest Centre and we’re looking forward to making the event even bigger and better.

"The quiz promises to be a fun evening out for everyone who enters and there will be plenty of delicious food and drink to enjoy. It will also be a great opportunity to bring out some competitive spirit in aid of a great cause.

"Those interested can enter up to eight people per team to be in with a chance of winning a hamper for each team member and the glory of taking home the Rumwell Cup.

"We will also be hosting a raffle on the night with a selection of prizes from our shop, our suppliers and friends. All of the money raised from the raffle will be donated to Conquest Centre."

Conquest Centre provides therapeutic support involving equines, small animals and the environment. It provides core services including riding, horse and small animal care and Thrive Approach Therapy and sensory work.

All its activities are provided in either group or private sessions as appropriate. They are delivered by qualified instructors with specialist expertise in working with people with additional physical and behavioural or emotional needs and are supported by a team of specially trained volunteers.

Jess Dixon, centre manager at Conquest Centre, said: "We’re thrilled that Rumwell Farm Shop is supporting our work again this year with their Charity Quiz & Supper Evening.

"We’ve built a strong relationship with Rumwell and they’ve been instrumental in raising money and awareness for the work we do.

"We hope this year’s event proves to be as popular as it has been previously and that lots of people book a table and get involved.

"We know from the feedback we receive that people using our services benefit in terms of their health, well-being, learning and development.

"We want to be able to continue to help people in the area for many years to come and the support from local businesses is essential. Thanks again to everyone at Rumwell and all their customers."

Supper will be served at 7pm with hot food choices followed by a selection of desserts. It costs £15.99 for two courses and the price includes a £1 quiz entry fee, which will be given to the charity.
