A BREWERY near Taunton has won a top award.

Quantock Brewery, in Bishop’s Lydeard, has scooped the UK country winner at this year’s World Beer Awards.

Their beer, Unkown Path, was crowned the best in the UK in the IPA milkshake/NEIPA category.

Unknown Path will now represent the UK in the World Beer Awards finals in September.

It will be judged against entries from breweries around the world for the chance to become the worlds best in style.

Cheryl Ford, managing director and co-founder of Quantock Brewery, said: “There are some phenomenal brewers in the UK so to be selected to be the best in category is amazing.

“We’re always looking to push ourselves to create craft beer that appeals to all tastes and as a team to get the recognition from the World Beer Award judges is incredible.

“We knew instantly from our customers’ feedback that Unknown Path was special.

“So, now to be up to be in with the chance to be crowned the world’s best in style would make our year.”

To celebrate, Quantock Brewery have decided to make another limited edition brew of Unknown Path, which will soon be available from their online shop and Tap Room.

Quantock Brewery’s QPA was also awarded a bronze in the American style pale ale category.
