AN extra prize of a £1,000 John Lewis gift voucher is up for grabs in a council-run lottery this autumn.

The Somerset West Lottery is now running the Autumn 2021 bolt-on prize draw, with everyone who signs up to purchase one or more tickets until October 30 being in with the chance of winning the voucher courtesy of Gatherwell, the external lottery management company.

"All tickets bought during this timeframe will automatically be entered into the bonus prize draw, as well as being in with a chance to win up to £25,000 in the weekly lottery, run by Somerset West and Taunton Council (SWT)," a spokesperson said.

"The weekly lottery offers registered good causes the opportunity to raise income for their organisation by selling tickets to members of the public.

"50 pence from every £1 ticket sold is given to locally registered good causes, with a further 10 pence being entered into a community grant fund, for which local good causes can apply annually.

"The remainder goes toward prizes and operating costs."

The jackpot prize is £25,000 for a matching sequence of six numbers.  Other prizes include £2,000, £250, £25 or three free lottery tickets. Each ticket has a 1 in 50 chance of winning.
