THE first face-to-face Somerset Chamber of Commerce event - since the start of last year - happened last Wednesday (September 1).

The annual Summer BBQ took place on the Thatchers Terrace at the Cooper Associates County Ground.

The Chamber has run more than 260 events online since the start of lockdown.

Alistair Tudor, operations manager at Somerset Chamber, said: "After such a challenging time for businesses, it’s been fantastic to see so many familiar and new faces in three dimensions.

"Whilst we’ve all utilised technology to stay in touch and remain connected over the last 18 months, there really is nothing like getting people together to establish and develop meaningful connections.

"We have a full calendar into next year so we’re looking forward to a whole host of events for our members over the next few months."
