QUESTION and answer sessions are being held ahead of the Recycle More rollout in Taunton Deane later this year.

Somerset Waste Partnership (SWP) are hosting Facebook Q&A sessions from tomorrow up until the scheme starts of November.

Recycle More will mean more kerbside recycling each week, with black bins being collected every three weeks.

SWP is encouraging residents to make sure they have all the containers they need before the rollout, and to make sure they are 'making full use' of their recycling collections.

"Everyone can have a green and a black recycling box, plus a food waste bin," said a spokesperson for SWP.

"All are free and can be ordered quickly and easily online using the My Waste Service menu on the website.

"Whether your boxes are broken, missing or you have never had the full set, order them now and be ready when Recycle More arrives. If your home is a new build, contact Somerset West and Taunton Council to be added to its property register, then order your containers.

"Now is the perfect time to check you are recycling all you can each week, including food waste – all of which is recycled here in Somerset into electricity and farm compost."

At the moment, Recycle More is delivering more than 100 extra tonnes of recycling each week in both Mendip and South Somerset.

The latest rollout will cover Taunton, Wellington and Wiveliscombe.

The first Q and A session ahead of the rollout will be tomorrow (September 15) between 7pm and 8pm.

There will be further Q&As over the next few months:

  • Thursday, September 30 from 7pm until 8pm
  • Monday, October 18 from 7pm until 8pm
  • Friday, November 5 from 7pm until 8pm

Recycle More adds the following items to weekly recycling collections:

  • Plastic pots, tubs and trays
  • Food and drink cartons
  • Small batteries
  • Small electrical items
