A MAN was stabbed near a pub in Taunton this week.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident near to a pub on Priorswood Road, between 3pm and 3.45pm on Tuesday (September 14).

The victim, a 20-year-old man, was taken to hospital where he is undergoing treatment for his injuries.

"We’re appealing for witnesses to a serious assault in which a man has suffered a stab injury," said a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police.

"We believe the stabbing happened following an altercation between two men.
