A MAN from Taunton has been ordered to pay over £200 after exceeding the speed limit on the M4 motorway in Port Talbot, Wales.
Cardiff Magistrates’ Court heard on September 8 that Simon James Gibson, 24, of Tyne Park, Taunton, was caught driving at 58mph in a Vauxhall.
The Welsh Government put a 50mph speed limit in place on parts of the M4 in summer 2019 to improve air quality.
Mr Gibson committed the offence on March 20.
He was fined £100 and ordered to pay a £34 surcharge to fund victim services and costs of £90 – giving him a total of £224 to pay by October 6.
His guilty plea was taken into account when the sentence was imposed.
