Dough bakery opens in Bath Place, Taunton

Dough, based in Bath Place, is the brainchild of David Johnson, who started baking six years ago.

Dough started as a sideline for David, with him making bakes for local coffee shops from his home.

After the first lockdown in March 2020, David started to make sourdough which became really popular - and so he decided to open a shop.

"I've always loved Bath place, it's beautiful shops and great location," he said.

"I originally looked at the shop we're in exactly a year to the day we were ready to open, bit the time just wasn't right.

"We opened the beginning of September and it's been getting busier as the weeks roll on.

"We really wanted to offer something Taunton has never had or seen, so our offering will be quite a modern concept loads of flavours, fresh ingredients from South West suppliers only."

Dough supplies a number of business in Taunton including The Mango Tree, The Little Wine Shop, The Bank, The Shed and more.
