THE next event in a series of 'pop-ups' to support a Somerset high street is set to take place on Saturday (October 9).

A wellbeing themed day is the fourth in the series to celebrate Porlock high street.

Funded by Somerset West & Taunton Council and organised by Porlock High Street Support Group, the pop-ups aim to draw the local community, as well as visitors, to the high street.

Duncan McCanlis, chair of the Porlock High Street Support Group, said: “We are grateful to Somerset West & Taunton Council for providing the finance.

"This allows us to not only organise these community events, but we are also able to provide traders with a new online platform, put out more flower planters and benches around the high street, all in support of Porlock’s amazing range of high street shops.”

The wellbeing day is set to include yoga, reiki, a soundbath, a mini facial and massages.

There will also be gluten free cakes on offer, and other traders will be highlighting the benefit of gardening, DIY and cooking to help improve mental health.

The event will run from 10am until 2pm.

The last event was a Family and Circus event held on September 4.

And the next, and last event in the series, will be on November 1 with a retail therapy theme.
