PARTS of a bus station and footpath will be closed for up to a week for £29.5k worth of repairs.
'Significant' tarmacking work is taking place at Wells Bus Station from October 18 for seven days.
Mendip District Council (MDC) are planning to repair a large portion of the station, which means the main entrance will be closed and coaches, buses and pedestrians will be asked to follow a different route.
All bus and coach traffic will temporarily access the station via the Princess Road Car Park entrance, which means 12 car park spaces will be unusable due to safety reasons.
"The footpath which runs from the city to Tesco’s car park (opposite the cinema entrance), will also be off-limits," said a spokesperson for MDC.
"Pedestrians will be encouraged to use Market Street as an alternative route.
"Clear signage will be in place and contractors situated on-site, to assist with any queries."
The resurfacing work is due to last for seven days, but this is subject to weather conditions.
