AN e-scooter rider was arrested after failing a breathalyser test in Taunton.
According to police, the culprit narrowly avoided a serious road traffic collision in the county town.
The rider tested over the drink drive limit following the incident in Wellington Road.
An Avon and Somerset Roads Policing Unit Tweet said: "The Road Traffic Act still applies if riding an E-scooter.
"This rider failed a Roadside Breath Test & was arrested shortly after narrowly avoiding a serious RTC in Taunton.
"Don't drink & ride or you could also be visiting our custody suite!"
