A NEW vaccination centre opened in Taunton on Monday (October 11).

Portakabins have been put up at the Firepool site, where staff are administering Covid-19 jabs.

The site, which replaces Taunton Racecourse, will be open seven days a week from 8.30am until 7.30pm.

One of the first people to be vaccinated at the site was Isabella Clements from Bedford.

She said: "I live with someone who is extremely vulnerable, so that's why I'm here today to get my second jab."

The site will enable up to 800 people a day to have their Covid-19 vaccination.
