SCORES of homeowners at a new independent-living community came together to meet each other while enjoying afternoon tea.

This was the first opportunity for all new homeowners to get together ahead of moving into the new Quantock House development, in Taunton.

The luxury apartment complex for people aged 55 and over is being constructed by Platinum Skies in Paul Street, which will comprise of one and two-bedroom apartments in the town centre.

Homeowners enjoyed the event, hosted at The Castle Hotel, which enabled around 30 people who have purchased a new home in Quantock House to get together to meet their neighbours and form new friendships before they all move into their purpose-built apartments.

Laura Warwick, director of lifestyle, wellbeing and entertainment at Platinum Skies, said: “The room was filled with laughter all afternoon at our afternoon tea event as our new homeowners got together to meet each other.

“They are looking forward to starting the next chapter of their lives at Quantock House where they will have fantastic, friendly neighbours to chat with over coffee in our homeowners’ lounges or a meal in the onsite bistro. They have been missing the sense of togetherness and fun that we offer within our communities, which is boosted further by a whole programme of organised activities such as cocktails and mocktails, board games, and pilates.”
